Groupset MTB

    Filter

Groupset MTB refers to a focus on all the bicycle parts located between the pedals and the rear wheel. It’s also called the Drivetrain. Normally it comprises the front and rear derailleurs, shifters, chainset, bottom bracket, chain, cassette, and the brakes.

When you’re shopping for Groupsets for your mountain bike here you can refine your search by a variety of means to find your perfect fit. At Bike Addict we cater to buyers of almost any budget, and a variety of different types, including Components, Groupset, Shimano MTB, SRAM MTB, Drivetrain, and MTB Components.  Then you can sort by brand, E*13, Shimano, SRAM, and Sun Race, their Clearance level, to see if we’re having a sale, and you can choose to look for 11 or 12 Speed Groupset MTBs.

It’s actually more common to see complete groupsets on road bicycles. But it’s in mountain bikes that cyclists mix and match parts from various groups and even different brands to suit their intended use and meet a certain price point.

As Keith Bontrager, the motorcycle racer who became a pioneer of modern mountain bike development, said, you can pick two of three qualities, cheapness, lightness, or strength.

Lighter bikes always accelerate, brake, and climb better than heavier ones do, but don’t sacrifice strength. Something’s got to give, however, and whether you’re reviewing drivetrains, wheels, or even complete bicycles, a reduction in weight plays a huge factor in how much it’s going to cost you. Luckily, at Bike Addict we not only Price Match, but we also offer free delivery on Accessories over R1 000 and Bicycles over R3 000*!

The general rule is that the more you’re willing to spend, the lighter your machine can get. The weight difference is the result of more expensive materials being used and the refining process being more complex, or time-consuming.
